Not every slow or broken computer needs to be replaced, and not every old computer deserves another expensive repair. The right answer depends on the age of the system, the failed part, available upgrades, software support, and what you actually need the computer to do.
What would I do if it were my computer?
That is the standard I try to use when recommending a repair. Sometimes a good SSD upgrade or replacement component can add useful life to a computer. Other times, the better decision is to save the data and put the repair money toward a newer system. I would rather explain that before you spend money than sell an upgrade that does not solve the real problem.

The system still would not complete a Windows installation reliably, so I returned it without recommending more parts or charging for a repair that had not improved the customer's situation.

Used Memory Diagnostics to Narrow Down an Intermittent Shutdown Problem
A Buford desktop was shutting down during updates and gaming. Memory diagnostics initially reported hardware errors, so I tested the RAM sticks and slots individually, updated the BIOS, and repeated the testing until the memory configuration passed. This helped narrow the problem instead of replacing parts at random.
