Logical Data Recovery in Hoschton, GA
Accidentally deleted important files? Formatted the wrong drive? Computer no longer boots but you still need the documents, photos, or other data stored inside?
JMG Computers, LLC provides local logical data recovery when the storage device is still functioning well enough to safely access or image.
Is the drive clicking, grinding, beeping, or repeatedly disappearing?
Turn it off and stop trying to access it. Continued use of a physically failing drive can make professional recovery more difficult. Contact me first so we can determine whether the device is appropriate for local logical recovery or should go directly to a specialized data recovery laboratory.
Problems I May Be Able to Help With
- Accidentally deleted files or folders
- Accidentally formatted storage
- Lost or corrupted partitions when the device remains readable
- Files trapped on a computer that no longer boots
- Data from a working drive removed from an otherwise failed computer
- Readable external hard drives and SSDs
- Accessible USB drives and other storage devices
- Qualifying Mac / Apple storage and Mac-formatted drives
When You Need a Professional Recovery Lab
I do not perform clean-room, component-level, or physical media repair. I will recommend specialized recovery instead when a device shows signs such as:
- Clicking, grinding, or beeping hard drives
- A drive that will not spin or power on
- Severe read instability or repeated disconnections
- Physical, electrical, water, or fire damage
- Controller, head, platter, or component-level failure
- Cases where continued attempts could reduce the chance of professional recovery
How I Approach Data Recovery
1
Evaluate
I determine whether the storage appears suitable for logical recovery or shows signs that it should go to a recovery lab.
2
Protect
Whenever practical, the goal is to minimize unnecessary work against the customer's original storage.
3
Recover
I attempt to recover the requested files using logical recovery methods appropriate for the storage and situation.
4
Verify
Recovered files and folders are reviewed to determine what usable data was successfully retrieved.
5
Return
Recovered data is transferred to suitable destination storage and returned along with the original device.
Data Recovery Pricing
Typically $195–$295
A $50 evaluation may be needed to determine whether the storage is suitable for logical recovery. If you approve the recovery, that evaluation fee is credited toward the approved recovery price rather than added on top of it.
Replacement storage for the recovered files, if required, is additional. If the device needs physical or laboratory-level recovery, I will stop and explain the next step rather than continue working against a failing device.
Windows Specialist — With Select Mac Data Recovery
Windows PCs
JMG Computers, LLC specializes in Windows computers. Data recovery may involve a drive removed from a non-booting PC, deleted files, inaccessible partitions, external storage, or other logical data-loss situations.
Apple / Mac Storage
I do not provide general Mac repair or macOS support. However, logical data recovery may be possible for certain Mac computers or Mac-formatted storage when the storage itself is still functional and accessible. Modern integrated or encrypted Apple storage may require specialized recovery services.
Common Questions
Can you guarantee my files will be recovered?
No data recovery can be guaranteed. The result depends on what happened to the storage, whether data has been overwritten, the condition of the device, encryption, and other factors. I will explain what I find before recommending the next step.
Should I keep trying recovery programs before contacting you?
If the data is important, it is better to stop writing new data to the affected device. Installing programs, saving files, formatting, or repeatedly attempting repairs can overwrite recoverable information. If the drive is making unusual noises, shut it down completely.
What will you put the recovered files on?
Recovered data needs a separate healthy destination. You may provide suitable storage, or we can discuss an appropriate replacement drive based on how much data needs to be returned.
What happens if you determine the drive has physically failed?
I stop. I do not open sealed hard drives or attempt clean-room or component-level repairs. I will explain why the device needs a specialized recovery laboratory so you can decide whether the value of the data justifies that next step.
Not Sure Whether Your Data Is Recoverable?
Tell me what happened, what type of device the data is stored on, and what the device is doing now. I can help determine whether it sounds like a logical recovery I can handle locally or a case that should go directly to a professional recovery lab.
